One of my favourite cities in the UK is Leeds! For me, I feel like it has it all; culture, beautiful architecture, good transport, amazing shops, crazy night life and great location in the North. I come from a very small, remote village so the hustle and bustle of Leeds life is exciting but it isn't as stressful and busy as somewhere like London.

Luckily for me, my boyfriend and his family live in a picturesque village just outside Leeds. The location is perfect being just a stones throw away from the city centre and the Yorkshire Dales. I absolutely love visiting so I thought I would share some of our adventures on one of many visits over the summer months :)

Just outside Leeds is a park called Golden Acre Park, which makes the perfect afternoon walk in the sun. There is a lake, streams, a forest with lots of wildlife, ponds, a cafe, a gift shop and even demonstration gardens and plant collections! You can find out more here.

One of the best museums in Leeds in the Thackray Medical Museum. The building was first opened in 1861 as the purpose-built, Leeds Union Workhouse. When the building was no longer needed, after the introduction of state support, it was renamed the St James' Hospital until the 1990's. Then in 1997 it opened as the Thackray Medical Museum. There is so much to do for children young and old with a variety of interactive exhibitions. And we all know how much I love an interactive museum ;) Tickets were just £6 for a student and they are valid for a year. It is also just a 20 minutes walk from the city bus station. I can never resist a drive into the Yorkshire Dales and two of the most beautiful villages include Grassington and nearby Linton. They are so picturesque with country pubs, village greens, cobbled streets, charming cottages and independent boutiques.

I also absolutely love the night life in Leeds! With 3 entries in the Top 100 World's Best Clubs, it's easy to see why. There are so many bars and clubs to choose from, whatever you are looking for.

Has anyone else been to Leeds? Do you have any tips or recommendations?
