Feeling very sleep we arrived at Newark and when we had collected our bags we got the Airtrain to the station.

Next was the train to Penn Station which is a pretty grotty first impression of New York, particularly when our taxi driver got out the cab doing his pants up!

We made it to Grand Central in one piece and after asking for a Starbucks we ended up in the lovely Joe's before getting on another train to Connecticut to go and stay with my cousin Justin and his wife Nina.

We arrived in South Kent by lunch time and enjoyed sandwiches outside under the trees with the children.

They then took us on a beautiful woodland walk where they taught us about poisonous mushrooms and the local wildlife.

We spent the rest of the evening catching up, playing dress up games and reading picture books.

Have any of you been to Connecticut? It is so beautiful, nice and warm in the summer but cold enough for lots of snow in the winter!
