For Robert's birthday, which is a month before mine, we stopped at a cosy pub in a picturesque village on the way back to Leeds from Preston.

They serve Peroni on draught which is a huge draw for Rob and his Dad. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the pub or the village but if I ever find out I will let you know!

We sat outside catching up and watching the village world go by. I decided I wouldn't mind a little house like the ones opposite the pub as a first house in the country :)

On the actual day the weather was beautiful and so we started with tea outside while Rob opened his presents before setting up the braai and opening the Champagne.

The Victorinox Swiss Army Knife was the perfect father-son present as Rob was preparing to trek across Norway with his friends, camping along the way. Just in case you were wondering, it was a challenge but they made it!

He had 2 very yummy cakes, my favourite being the farm animals from Morrison's!

What kind of cakes do you like for your birthday? Let me know in the comments :) I am a hugee fan of the icing on any cake...
