I've decided to rename this series 'Love Walking' because they started out as gentle and easy walks but I've been challenging myself more each time and I am starting to LOVE walking. I know, can you believe it?!

Sale Fell is a small hill situated near Cockermouth and Bassenthwaite Lake making it the perfect first incline for a non walker. You park on the road uphill from The Pheasant and when I say uphill I mean most of the way up the fell.

There is a very clear path around the front and up the right hand side of Sale which gets a little steeper the closer you get to the top but nothing crazy. It takes around half an hour to get to the top and 20 minutes to get down and around the other side.

Boom, you've walked a fell in under an hour. But don't be fooled, as you've driven some height you still get pretty good views from the top and you can treat yourself to tea and shortbread at The Pheasant as a reward!

Next week I'm progressing to Walla Crag so there's something to look forward to.
