Latrigg is one of the most popular walks in the Lakes and with some reason.

We just managed to out walk the rain! ^

You can park on the road to the swimming pool in Keswick and start heading up towards Latrigg by crossing over the A66. It is quite a quick ascent without being too steep. The summit isn't as high at Dodd but the overall walk is longer so you get the best of both worlds.

The walk is pretty varied with views over Keswick and the lake as well as Skiddaw and the Northern fells.

The route down is where it can all go wrong... The turn off back through the top of the forest is the first turning to the right and it seems a little soon but take it if you want the shortest route back. If not there is a longer but prettier path along the riverside.

This walk is perfect for a morning ending with lunch at The Filling Station! (Any excuse for lunch hey)
